It is really amazing to learn that the furniture market now has become very competitive as many type and design of the break-through have emerged. Meanwhile many people are enjoying modern furniture and other wooden furniture such as teak or maple wood, there is an another type of furniture, which is becoming popular among home owner, yes, I am talking about rattan furniture.

It seem that the most popular type is rattan outdoor furniture. This is because the characteristic of rattan itself could resist to all whether changes such as heave rain and strong sunlight. However, some people may have a question that so what rattan actually is. It is not really strange to see many people still have no idea what rattan is, because it is new and have just entered to the furniture market. Rattan is a natural plant product - it is grown in the moist, humid tropical regions of Asia such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. The most characteristic of rattan is flexibility. Rattan comes in stick shape and wicker to be many kind of furniture shape. The flexibility of rattan stick allow itself to be placed in outdoor area and need just a little care and maintenance.

Rattan outdoor furniture is now becoming a great competitor of teak outdoor furniture as they are a lot cheaper and easy to move, even though the durable and life time of rattan may not long as teak but still reasonable. You can keep easy to maintain rattan outdoor furniture by just use a small vacuum cleaner, or a soft cloth dipped in warm, soapy water. Rattan could get wet but not for so long, other wise mold will develops on the rattan surface.

However, rattan outdoor furniture is still a great choice as it cheap and still easy to maintain, and more importantly, they are flexible so you can have many designs.
